What do you observe from the cover of Gianluca Ceccarini's first work just published on Laverna Netlabel?
Is it the broken glass of a post-apocalyptic zone of Tarkowskian ancestry? Perhaps the intricate rosette of a Persian instrument? Is it possible that there is only one way in which the author wants us to suggest that the ten episodes of "Starving Night" are actually fragments of a single reality?
Each piece is the result of a dilated ambient sound always poised between nature and sound, between silence and white noise.
The distinctly electroacoustic matrix of the compositions ranges from enveloping sonic expansions to small electronic fragments; each voice becomes something else in a continuous interchange of timbres and pitches; the ear is forced on an invisible limen lost in an indefinite environment.
"Starving Night" is music for sound-hungry nights.
